"Camp Connection" @ the Middletown Township Public Library

While some library systems have an “outreach librarian” who can focus his or her  time and energy primarily on developing and implementing outreach services, many libraries do not have enough staff to allow a librarian to dedicate him\herself entirely to outreach projects. The Middletown Township (NJ) Public Library has developed an innovative summer program that creates outreach opportunities during the summer reading club, already a very busy time of the year for youth services staff.

The Ocean County Library’s 2012 Teen Summer Reading program will focus on two themes, “Owning the Night” and “The Real Jersey Shore”. With the popularity of the Jersey Shore television program, it’s our goal to let people know that Ocean County is more than the gym, tans, bars and laundry facilities. Woodbury Public Library Encourages Kids to Dream Big this Summer

Parents teasingly lament summer and delight in fall when the kids go back to school, but we all know that kids can get bored, quick! Fortunately, Woodbury Public Library offers a free and cool respite for parents and kids. Act Like a Kid Day! at Middletown Public Library
